Common Mistakes Made By Candidates In SSB

Hello friends, Today I will tell you the most common mistakes made by candidates in SSB. We humans are prone to errors. But the best thing is to learn from the mistakes and move forward by learning from the mistakes.

Every student works hard so as to get recommended to the for the Armed Forces, a great responsibility and a pride for a person. But many candidates work hard but make some mistakes during their SSB.


So we will discuss some common mistakes the a candidate makes in SSB:

1. Inattentiveness: That might look silly but the most common mistakes that a candidate makes in SSB is not listening clearly to the instructions of the officers. That's why some candidates fail in Group Discussions, GTO's and during the Personal Interview, they are not able to inspire the Interview Board.

2. Lack of Self-Awareness: The first step to start for the preparation is to know yourself. Know you Qualities, your Strengths and areas of faults and improve your weaknesses that what is stopping you to get recommended for Armed Forces.

3. Being Unprepared: Perhaps the worst thing you can do to yourself is being unprepared. Many candidates take SSB lightly and go to SSB without much preparation. But the truth is a candidate has to be well prepared before going to SSB. It is one of the toughest interviews in the world and you have to be fully prepared for that.

4. Exra Dominant Is Dangerous: Extra of everything is harmful. Same thing applies with the SSB. The Interviewing Officers are look for the candidates who mus have qualities of leadership but if you are extra dominant then you are at wrong place my friend. Being dominant is not a quality of Leadership. Rather it is a kind of Dictatorship. Express yourself in a justified way.

5. Not Being Honest: The Interviewing Officers have a lot of experience as the access many candidates every day. They are trained to judge the candidate at first sight.. So don't ever try to over smart with the Interviewing Officers. Be honest with them. And many candidates do this mistake to fool the Interviewer and this is their biggest mistake. Be honest, this will make your clear picture in different stages at SSB.

6. Copying Others Defames Your Personality: It is usually seen that the candidates try to copy their fellow candidates or the dialogues of recommended candidates and deliver at SSB. That might be have worked for the recommended candidates but if you try to copy others, then your personality will somewhere be defamed. So be yourself throughout the SSB and try not to copy others.

7. Being Extra Friendly Is Harmful: If try to be over friendly that can be harmful for you at SSB because the Armed Forces is all about Discipline. Measure your words and feelings. And think many times before you speak. Just answer what is being asked. 

8. Lack of Self Confidence: If you are looking nervous and confused during the Group Discussions and Lecturette then it is not good for your personality. Be confident while delivering Lecturette and while clear voice so that every person is able to hear what you are saying while in Group Discussions must speak atleast 2 to 3 times so as to mark an impression in the mind of the Officer observing you.

At last I would like to say that every candidate should work on their shortcomings rather that wasting time on lustring expertise. Find the thing where you lack in and try to convert your weaknesses into your strength. Then only you will come closer to achieve your goals of getting recommended for Armed Forces.
